Building a Politics of Hope: Exploring the role and impact of faith-based leadership in local communities
24th February 2015, London Welsh Centre
From food banks to education, economic justice to community empowerment, faith-based organisations are playing an increasingly central role in local communities. In the run-up to the 2015 general election, this conference offers a unique opportunity for faith and community leaders, faith-based organisations and public policy makers to explore:
Three case studies will provide starting points for group discussions and plenary reflection. Rev Al Barrett will offer a reflection on a neighbourhood experiment in building community; Mohammed Mamdani will present a community foodbank & kitchen in north-west London which aims to create a community hub for local people in crisis; and Chris Sunderland shares his economic justice projects based in Bristol.
