Our Director of Research, Dr Chris Baker will offer the keynote address at the Church of England’s forthcoming conference Faith in Research. The conference, to be held in Birmingham on 4 June, is titled ‘The role of the Church in Society’. Dr Baker will address issues of social, spiritual and religious capital in the keynote address titled, ‘Spiritual capital – the role of the Church in a postsecular society’.
The Faith in Research conferences aim to engage Church of England clergy and lay people to stay up-to-date with the most relevant and contemporary research on the Church and the role of religion in society. The June conference will be chaired by the Right Reverend David Walker, Bishop of Manchester.
